Trauma and Stressorrelated disorders are mental health conditions that are triggered by a traumatic event. They can include posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), acute stress disorder, adjustment disorder, reactive attachment disorder, and disinhibited social engagement disorder. Common symptoms of these disorders may include flashbacks of the trauma, anxiety and depression, difficulty sleeping or concentrating, irritability or outbursts of anger, avoidance of people or places associated with the trauma, problems with trust or intimacy in relationships.

DESCRIBE THE DIAGNOSIS OF TRAUMA AND STRESSORRELATED DISORDERS AND DISSOCIATIVE DISORDERS

Dissociative disorders involve disruptions in a person’s sense of self and identity as well as their perception of reality. The most common forms are dissociative identity disorder (formerly called multiple personality) and depersonalization/ derealization disorder. Symptoms may include feelings that one is not real or feeling separated from oneself; memory loss; changes in perception such as time distortion; alternate identities; confusion about personal details such as name place of birth etc.; disturbances in emotions; alterations in consciousness; and disturbances in movement (such as catatonia).
