We are incorporating technology at our site to enhance the project. We are using data collection and analysis tools to gather and analyze data related to medication errors in 3-4-year old leukemia patients. The technology we will use include a web based survey platform (Survey Monkey) for collecting quantitative data, an audio recorder for gathering qualitative interviews with nurses and other healthcare personnel, and a software suite (IBM SPSS) for analyzing the collected data. These technologies enable us to get detailed information from respondents on their views of medication errors, how they handle such situations, what systems exist in place to limit them, and how they think these issues can be addressed better.

The Survey Monkey platform also allows us to collect demographic information about participants that includes age group, education level, gender etc., which helps us better understand the sample population used for this research project. In addition, we have set up a secure repository which stores all raw data gathered from interviews as well as responses from questionnaire items. This is essential so that we can access it whenever needed during the course of our research work. Finally we plan on using established statistical techniques like descriptive statistics (mean & median), t-tests & chi square tests along with some advanced machine learning algorithms such as Decision Trees & Random Forest models for analyzing patterns between variables & drawing meaningful conclusions out of our findings.
