Exploring Creative Visuals in the Everyday. During this week, pay attention to your surroundings. We will be looking at our day to day searching for at least three creative visuals, messages, slogans, or tactics you may see. Narrate your process in the Post, share media (pictures, descriptions of what you saw, how you saw it.. etc…) and analyze what do you think is the background/problem or goal that this communication strategy is addressing. And discuss with at least 2 of your peers about their findings in a constructive way using substantial information.

Exploring Creative Visuals in the Everyday

As I went about my everyday life this week, I began to pay closer attention to the creative visuals, messages, slogans, and tactics that I encountered. One of the first visuals that struck me was a mural on the side of a building displaying a collage of vibrant colors and shapes with the words “Live Colorfully” written across the bottom. Looking closely, I noticed that the mural was sponsored by a popular paint company, suggesting that the goal of the mural was to promote the company’s paint products (Selby, 2021). The message that I took away was that the company was trying to encourage people to find joy in the act of painting and to express their individual style through the colors they choose. The second creative visual I noticed was a bus stop advertisement for a local health center (Selby, 2021). The ad featured a smiling woman wearing a face mask and the words “It’s time to take care of yourself” in bold letters. The ad was accompanied by a picture of the health center’s logo and a list of services the center offers.
