Discussion Post -Quote identification

 A.    Five years have passed; five summers, with the length
Of five long winters! and again I hear
These waters, rolling from their mountain springs
With a soft inland murmur. Once again
Do I behold these steep and lofty cliffs,
That on a wild secluded scene impress
Thoughts of more deep seclusion; and connect
The landscape with the quiet of the sky.
 
B.         What is the matter? he cried. For Gods sake, what are you doing?
            I kept on creeping just the same, but I looked at him over my shoulder.
            Ive got out at last, said I, in spite of you and Jane. And Ive pulled off most of the paper, so you cant put me back.
            Now why should that man have fainted? But he did, and right across my path by the wall, so that I had to creep over him every time!
 
C.         Her face, as she prepares the Art that is her gift, is a legacy of respect she leaves to me, for all that illuminates and cherishes life. She has handed down respect for the possibilitiesand the will to grasp them.
            For her, so hindered and intruded upon in so many ways, being an artist has still been a daily part of her life. This ability to hold on, even in very simple ways, is work black women have done for a very long time.
