Customer service is an important part of any business, and it is essential to ensure customers are satisfied. The following scenarios will present a good and a bad customer service situation.
Scenario 1: Good
A freshman student, Samantha, is asking questions about the campus from the Office of Campus. She has many questions and the staff member is patient and takes the time to answer each of her questions. The staff member is friendly and helpful, and she gives Samantha extra information about campus activities.
Scenario 2: Bad
A parent is calling the Housing Office about an incident that happened in their student’s dorm. The staff member is short with them and does not provide any helpful information. The staff member is not patient and does not listen to the parent’s concerns. The staff member quickly ends the call without providing the parent with any further information.
Both of these scenarios demonstrate the importance of customer service.
