1. Risk for Imbalanced Nutrition: More Than Body Requirements related to inactivity and excessive carbohydrate intake as evidenced by increased fasting blood glucose levels greater than 180 mg/dL.

Expected Outcome (Short Term): The patient will maintain adequate nutrition within 7 days, as evidenced by a fasting blood glucose level less than 150mg/dL.

Expected Outcome (Long Term): The patient will demonstrate improved nutritional habits over 12 weeks, as evidenced by an improvement in weight management and a fasting blood glucose level no higher than 120mg/dL.

2. Risk for Decreased Cardiac Output related to polyphagia, polydipsia, polyuria and hyperglycemia as evidenced by fatigue and lightheadedness following meals with high sugar content.

Expected Outcome (Short Term): The patient will demonstrate increased cardiac output within 5 days, as evident by improved energy levels after meals.

Expected Outcome (Long Term): The patient will maintain an appropriate cardiac output over 6 months, as evident by decreased episodes of fatigue or dizziness after meals with high sugar content.

3. Knowledge Deficit related to disease management strategies required to manage diabetes mellitus symptoms as evidenced by lack of understanding during medical appointments regarding dietary changes needed for better control of blood glucose levels.

Expected Outcome(Long-Term) :The Patient Will Demonstrate Improved Knowledge Of Disease Management Strategies Over 4 Months As Evident By Improved Control Of Blood Glucose Levels And A Reduction In Medication Dosage If Clinically Indicated .
