The problem of evil presents a serious challenge to those who hold the Aristotelian conception of God. This can be seen in how Aristotle’s view of God is incompatible with the idea that an all-powerful, all-good and omniscient deity would allow for evil and suffering to exist in the world. In this paper, I will discuss how Aristotle’s understanding of God does not adequately address the issue of evil; specifically looking at his conception of divine providence, eudaimonia and teleology.
