Johnny Braff (1929 – 2010) was a renowned and highly respected Guyanese artist, known for his unique style of abstract and symbolic painting. He was born in Georgetown, Guyana, to parents who had immigrated from Barbados. He began his artistic career at an early age, completing his first painting when he was only ten years old.

Braff studied art at the Royal College of Art in London before moving back to Guyana and opening his own studio in 1954. Throughout his career as an artist, Johnny Braff exhibited regularly both locally and internationally, including exhibitions in Paris, Milan and New York City. His artwork can also be found in various public collections across the world including those of The British Museum; The National Gallery of Jamaica; the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Caracas; The Barbados Museum & Historical Society; the National Gallery Of Canada; The Victoria & Albert Museum in London; and many more.
