When discussing the differences between a Christian firm and a secular firm, there are three to four areas that can be explored: beliefs, values, approach to business, and employees. While each of these areas is distinct and has its own implications on how a company conducts itself, they all stem from the core belief system that guides the organizational culture of a company.

Beliefs: The most significant difference between Christian firms and secular firms is their beliefs. A Christian organization’s mission statement will almost always include some reference to faith in God or religious principles while secular organizations do not typically have any explicit references to any form of religious belief in their mission statements. This difference may also manifest itself in other aspects of an organization such as how decisions are made or which charities are supported by the company. For example, many Christian organizations dedicate time for prayer during meetings or prioritize giving back to churches or ministries over other causes whereas secular companies often invest more into philanthropic causes with different priorities than those found within Christianity.
