Under President Barack Obama’s administration there was an emphasis on creating systems that provided better integrated care for individuals suffering from mental illnesses or substance abuse disorders. This agenda included investing in evidence-based practices such as trauma-informed care models and providing better support for underserved communities through expanded Medicaid coverage.

Finally under President George W Bush’s Administration there was an effort put forth to reduce stigma associated with mental illness by promoting awareness campaigns targeting youth populations at risk of developing behavioral issues due to childhood adversity or neglect. Additionally resources were allocated towards community based treatment programs that aimed to prevent incarceration among those suffering from chronic psychological conditions.

In conclusion all three administrations have had different focuses when it comes to addressing our nation’s mental health concerns; however they share the common goal of improving access quality affordable supportive services individuals need .
