As an advanced registered nurse, there are a number of professional organizations and regulatory, certification, or accreditation agencies that define the scope of practice in which I will be working. These include organizations such as the American Nurses Association (ANA), National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) and Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). All three agencies are important in setting standards for safe, quality nursing care and ensuring that nurses have the proper education and experience to provide competent patient-centered care.

Of these three organizations, I think the one that I would most like to join is the ANA. This organization is dedicated to advocating on behalf of nurses everywhere by promoting professional excellence through policy advocacy, continuing education opportunities and providing resources to empower nurses. The mission statement of this organization resonates with my worldview; they believe that “healthcare should be available to all people regardless of race or socioeconomic status” which aligns closely with my own philosophy on healthcare access. Furthermore, membership in this organization could help me stay current on industry trends while networking with fellow nurses who share similar interests.

One issue that has been gaining a lot of attention recently is Scope-of-Practice autonomy for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs). This issue affects APRNs because it can determine how much independence they have when it comes to prescribing medications or performing certain tasks within their scope-of-practice. Currently many states restrict APRN’s ability in certain areas such as prescriptive authority which limits their potential impact upon patient outcomes due lack treatment options .

This issue matters greatly for the advanced registered nurse practitioner because it can significantly influence how much autonomy we have when providing care leading either more effective interventions improved outcomes overall If given freedom practise full extent capabilities allowed field then healthcare system likely benefit variety ways Most importantly however increased leeway allow greater flexibility addressing needs patients time potentially saving lives though faster response times .In conclusion evolution attitudes towards autonomous roles experienced nurses must watched closely ensure best possible results society long term basis
